If you read my previous post you’ll know we’ve been working on getting a pigsty built in our patch, it is as good as finished so today was the day for collecting the new member of our smallholding here in Nicaragua.

This morning I woke with the idea that we were going to buy just one pig, but Tim (of all people!!) came up with another plan…that we buy two piglets (better that they have company) and we share the costs with Carla, sell one when it is ready for slaughter and share the other one between us. That way the one pays for the other and we get good quality happy meat to eat.

So as you can see two little pigs arrived…

And for those of you that haven’t seen my Instagram page today, this is Bonzo eyeing up the new inmates. I think it’s the first time he’s ever seen a pig…
